Results Summary Filters

SurveyPlanet Pro users are able to filter survey results based on participant answers or response dates. Results from the filter will populate through all questions in the survey results.

Create Filter

To apply a new filter, navigate to your survey results summary and follow the steps below:

  1. Click on Filter on the right side of the submenu
  2. Click Add Filter.
  3. In the popup, select the question you’d like to filter from.
  4. Select the value of your filter. See Filter Values below.
  5. Select Options if you'd like to refine your filter. See options under Filter Values below.

You may apply multiple filters to a single data set. Keep in mind that you can end up with empty data sets if you create too many filters.

Filter Values

Filter values will change depending on the type of question you select. Here is a list of values you’ll see based on the type of question you choose to filter by:

  • Multiple Choice and Image Choice: Filter based on whether or not a value was selected.
    • Any: Match any choice selected (default).
    • All: Match all choices selected.
  • Essay: Filter based on text search.
    • Is: Answers match search term exactly (default).
    • Is not: Answers do not match search term.
    • Begins with: Answers begin with search term.
    • Does not begin with: Answers do not begin with search term.
    • Ends with: Answers end with search term.
    • Does not end with: Answers do not end with search term.
    • Contains: Answers contain search term.
    • Does not contain: Answers do not contain search term.
  • Form: Filter based on text search.
    • Any: Match any choice selected (default).
    • All: Match all choices selected.
  • Rating, Range and Scale: Filter answers based on numeric value.
    • Equals: Answers are equal to filter value (default).
    • Greater than: Answers are greater than filter value.
    • Greater than or equal to: Answers are greater than or equal to filter value.
    • Less than: Answers are less than filter value.
    • Less than or equal to: Answers are less than or equal to filter value.
    • Doesn't Equal: Answers are not equal to filter value.
  • Scoring: Filter based on score value.
    • Any: Match any filters (default).
    • All: Match all filters.
  • Date/Time and Date Taken: Filter based on date and/or time.
    • Is: Date/time is precisely filter value (default).
    • After: Date/time is after filter value.
    • Before: Date/time is before filter value.

Delete Filter

Once you've created a filter you'll see it in the filter nav. Simply click the X on the filter you'd like to remove to delete it.
